Mark your calendars! Next month, bespoke Canadian floral event company Fleurs de Villes will exhibit a must-see, custom floral couture installation at Yorkville Village that will be open to the public for five days only, from June 13 to 17, 2019.
“Fleurs de Villes is a showcase for local, world-class floral design,” says co-founder Karen Marshall. “Our pop-up shows are stunning examples of the artistry of flowers, inspired by brand partners, and we are delighted to partner with Yorkville Village to present our show for the first time in downtown Toronto, connecting the public with a free sensory experience they won’t see anywhere else.”
Visitors to the free exhibit will be treated to a jaw-dropping display of one-of-a-kind, floral-dressed mannequins and elaborate, exotic flower arrangements created by some of Toronto’s most talented flower mavens. “Nowhere else will you will find the top local florists in each market working together to create this type of art,” notes Marshall. “The florals are all fresh and only last for five days — like a bouquet — so there is a real sense of urgency to the show.”
Each mannequin’s bloom-based, fashion-inspired outfit will be designed and handcrafted by the talents at exemplary Toronto florists such as Teatro Verde, Pocket of Posies, Oudalove, Foresco Girl, Joezel, Fresh Florals, C-Sabine and 19 Melrose + Kaas Floral Design. “On the morning of June 13, you can come and watch the florists build and create their mannequins — the precision, the water source, the framework, etc., are all part of the story,” says Marshall. “No two Fleurs de Villes shows are ever remotely the same.”
In total, there will be 10 mannequins installed at Yorkville Village, with an 11th mannequin displayed in the lobby of The Hazelton Hotel. Each will be a unique creative collaboration between the local florist and event brand partners. In addition to the beautiful floral display, there will be florist workshops and a pop-up flower cart open daily.
