Then Now Next

Yorkville Village is proud to present THEN NOW NEXT part of MODECANADA150 – Celebrating one hundred and fifty years of Canada’s contribution to the world of fashion / Célébrant cent cinquante années de contribution du Canada au monde de la mode.

Curated by Fashion History Museum (THEN), in collaboration with The Toronto Fashion Incubator (NOW) and the Ryerson School of Fashion (NEXT), the exhibit explores Canada’s formidable rank on the international fashion stage. From The Hudson’s Bay Company to Yousuf Karsh, Arnold Scassi, Lou Myles, Jeanne Beker, Linda Evangelista, Anita E. Kunz (OC), Petra Collins, Erdem and newcomer Sid Neigum, Canada is unrivalled. Its impressive roster of creators, contributors and range of output extends well beyond DESIGN into all areas of fashion and lifestyle production and promotion – ART DIRECTION, BEAUTY, ILLUSTRATION, JOURNALISM, MODELING, PHOTOGRAPHY and RETAIL.

THEN NOW NEXT thrills visitors with new knowledge of our country’s iconic forerunners, whom they might not have known were Canadian, and introduces us to futurists paving new roads with innovative shapes, applications and technology, revolutionizing fashion’s global statement and marketplace.

THEN NOW NEXT opens September 13th and runs until November 10th in prelude to MODECANADA150’s pinnacle “Oh Canada!” Gala Spectacular on October 28th, 2017. Visit modecanada150.ca for more.
