Your Guide to Toronto Fashion Week

From September 4–6, 2018, Yorkville Village will be home to Toronto Fashion Week’s many runway shows, fashion talks and exclusive happenings. Internationally recognized designers such as Sid Neigum and Mikhael Kale will debut their Spring 2019 collections for the first time, and while fashion week started as an industry event, many of the most notable experiences at Toronto Fashion Week are also open to the public.

Whether you’re a fashion industry insider or proud supporter of Canadian design, Toronto Fashion Week is the perfect opportunity to scout fresh talent, support local designers, and learn more about key apparel and styling trends for next season. Here are five ways to join in on the fun, and be at the centre of the action this season.


Attend Fashion Talks

Each day of Toronto Fashion Week, host Donna Bishop will be hosting live tapings of her Fashion Talks podcast in the RE\SET Studio on the upper level of Yorkville Village. Tickets are available online, and you can expect lively and topical conversations with industry leaders including curator Dr. Alexandra Palmer of the Royal Ontario Museum and internationally renowned style expert Joe Zee.


See a Show

Limited general tickets and day passes for the Spring 2019 shows and presentations are available for sale at, allowing you to be among the first to see the latest collections buzzy labels like WRKDEPT and Alex S. Yu. Previewing next season’s fashion trends and top beauty looks up close is an experience that’s not to be missed.


Shop the RE\SET Designer Showroom

Open to the public from September 4–6, the RE\SET designer showroom at 87 Yorkville Avenue is a great opportunity for fashion enthusiasts to meet over 20 Canadian designers, see their collections first hand and purchase in-season merchandise as well as one-off samples. Curated by The Collections, the showroom lineup includes both established labels, such as Alan Anderson, and emerging young talents, including Cuchara.


Learn about Costume Art and Design

Starting September 4, From Concept to Creation: An Exhibition of Canadian Costume Art and Design will be on view at Yorkville Village. Produced in partnership with the Canadian Alliance of Film and Television Costume Arts and Design (CAFTCAD), the exhibition will showcaseriginal costumes and accessories from recent film and television productions, some of which you just might view at TIFF!


Dine in Style

11 restaurants in Yorkville, including ONE and Sassafraz, will be offering special food and cocktail offerings inspired by the designers of fashion week for the Style Plate initiative from September 4–6. Enjoy a great meal, and receive a discount on tickets for all fashion week shows and talks as part of the promotion.
