This is not just an art exhibit. This is a critical fundraiser. The Yogen Früz Brain Project, a city-wide Toronto art exhibit, is celebrating its fifth year with exciting, thought-provoking works of art that raise awareness about brain health and critical funding for research at Baycrest for Alzheimer’s and related dementias. During this critical time, funds will help protect our vulnerable seniors during the COVID-19 pandemic. This year’s exhibit of 50 brain sculptures by a talented group of local and international artists, celebrities and thought-leaders includes a curated look back at some of the inspirational works from the first four years that tie into the themes of brain resilience, memory, neuroplasticity, stigma and protection. Each year, The Yogen Früz Brain Project attracts painters, sculptors, musicians, broadcasters, influencers, performance artists and creative thinkers who bring their own personal interpretations of the themes to a blank, brain-shaped, three-dimensional form using the mediums of their choice. The sculptures are displayed at a variety of prime locations around Toronto, inspiring conversations about brain health.Sales of the sculptures, and donations raise crucial funds for Baycrest’s efforts to defeat dementia and improve the aging experience.Brains are now in display in locations across Toronto, including The Lane right here in Yorkville Village.
